Most of the web hosts offer three types of hosting plans. Usually there's
- an economy plan,
- some sort of standard plan
- and a professional/extreme plan.
Of course you need to see the differences for yourself between the plans but what they offer is pretty
similar.
You have to understand that
server space and bandwidth space is becoming cheaper and cheaper and there are already many big hosts that offer simple a single plan. It is really becoming more expensive to manage different account limitations then to buy extra storage space.
Just look around you, Google is offering unlimited e-mail accounts, Yahoo is offering 2 Gb FREE e-mail accounts. I think it is ridiculous these days as a host to limit under 10Gb or even under 100Gb of space. You'll find many hosts offering
unlimited plans.
Time Plans
All the plans you'll see offer the option of buying more in advance for a cheaper price. If you think your website will last a long time, go for it. There are money to be saved. On the other hand, if you're still not sure about the web host or about your website and you want to just try for a few months or for a year, go for that. Don't look at saving a penny here. think well about your intentions. The worst that could happen is your website will not work as you hoped or you get bored and you end up paying for a 3 year hosting plan.
